Our Pastor
Pastor Samuel Hammett joined Liberty Baptist Church as the pastor on March 1st of 2023. Samuel grew up in Emmaus, Pennsylvania at Lehigh Valley Baptist Church, where he was trained for the ministry in Lehigh Valley Baptist Bible Institute and was privileged to serve on staff for 9 years before being called by Liberty Baptist Church.
Pastor Rick Nesmith faithfully pastored Liberty Baptist from December 2010 through February 2023. He started in the ministry by serving on staff at Galilean Baptist Church, Cedar Hill, Texas, and Berean Baptist Church, Springfield, Missouri before becoming pastor of Bethel Baptist Church, Kountze, Texas, in 1984.
He has also pastored Liberty Baptist Church, Monett, Missouri, and started New Testament Baptist Church, Joplin, Missouri in 1997, as a mission out of Berean Baptist Church, Springfield, Missouri, where he served until 2010.
He is a 1984 graduate of Independent Baptist College, Dallas,TX, and a 1990 graduate of Baptist Bible College, Springfield, MO.
After retiring from the pastorate of Liberty Baptist, he has remained a faithful member serving and helping in any way that he can and is great blessing and encouragement to the church.
